His two passions, travel and telling stories through pictures, made QueLlevar.Travel come to life. He explains why they chose the .travel domain and how it works for them.
dot Travel Domains: What does your company do?
Juan Diego Santa Coloma: QueLlevar.Travel is a digital media focused on generating content specifically on the tourism sector, aimed at the final consumer. The platform also serves as a showcase for promoting tourism destinations and products. At a later stage, we should integrate the ability to book and purchase them.
dot Travel: What is the target audience?
J. D. Santa Coloma: QueLlevar.Travel’s main audience is the final consumer, travelers either on business or vacation, who can find in the content of our platform, a source of inspiration to plan their vacation or information to choose some services for their trip.
dot Travel: What is your philosophy and business model?
J. D. Santa Coloma: QueLlevar.Travel is a media outlet focused on tourism and travel, the business model is in principle defined through content marketing, for which we work on positioning ourselves as a point of reference for travelers, so that subsequently destinations and tourism products see us as an option for their promotion through valuable content. In a following stage we plan to incorporate reservation systems and the purchase of tourism services.
dot Travel: What is the ultimate goal of QueLlevar.Travel?
J. D. Santa Coloma: Our main goal is to inspire, to instill the desire to go visit and enjoy a destination, product or tourism service.
dot Travel: What are the main distinguishing features? What makes you different?
J. D. Santa Coloma: We are working to define our own identity, primarily through our content’s format most of which is done in video, but also in a way well we want it to be generated based on the experience in order to provide valuable information, and above all to be inspiring.
dot Travel: How and when .travel met and decided to work with us?
J. D. Santa Coloma: From the conceptualization phase of the project, we found out about the .travel domain and we felt that the focus we were looking for was the “last name” we wanted to carry that would bring immediate clarity for the consumer on the type of content they would find on our site. It was also clear to us that the .travel extension gave us a degree of exclusivity.
dot Travel: How has the business evolved?
J. D. Santa Coloma: QueLlevar.Travel began as a videoblog but with time we saw the need to transcend the generation of content to provide a greater volume of information on different aspects concerning travel, for this reason we moved towards structuring ourselves as a media outlet, and we are in the process of concretizing different partnerships for generating content, and at the same time seeking to reach all of Latin America.
dot Travel: How did you pick the domain?
J. D. Santa Coloma: “What to bring” (Que Llevar) is a recurring question in Colombia, which is directed at someone who already knows a place and who can provide key information to whoever wants to go.
dot Travel: How has .travel helped to position your page as a solid tool to deliver a message or present a product to your audience?
J. D. Santa Coloma: Mainly it has placed us in a specialized segment; now people understand that a .travel site is a site about travel, be it destinations, agencies or media.
